Our first meeting of 2008 saw 110 of our members in attendance on a fine day. A great turn out after our most successful year in 2007.
Under new business, recording secretary, Gwen Slaght, read a letter of resignation from President Larry Priestman. Many members tried to convince Larry to change his mind, but Larry felt that he could no longer contribute to the club. Ron Carroll thanked Larry for his efforts contributing to the growth of our club over the past 10 years. We will miss Larry on our executive board but I am sure his participation will continue.
Ron Carroll has booked the Capitol Banquet Hall and DJ again for our 2008 Christmas Dinner/Dance, Saturday November 22nd.
Kitchener Local 804 has sent us a DVD on Disability Tax Credits that we hope to show at our February 5th meeting.
It looks like only 1 bus will be going to Niagara Falls Feb 27-28-29th with more trips planned for June and August.

Our club was saddened by the passing of the following members, Jim Leebody-79 years old, Vladimir Salliste-86 years old, Richard Fraser-82 years old, Sandor Kovacs-81 years old, Robert Gardner-79 years old, William Gow-76 years old, Harry Goodman-75 years old, Paul Sheppard-75 years old, Hugh Storey-70 years old, George Gourlay-68 years old. Our thoughts are with their families and friends. This list was lengthy as we did not have a December meeting.
December Birthdays were celebrated by Cathy Lewis, Nancy Carleton, Gwen Slaght, Helmuth Krohm, Gerry Ackroyd, Bronislaw Novak and Bob Renardson.
January Birthdays were celebrated by Shirley Mallett, Helen Singleton, Lenny Richmond, Jim Dunn and Joe Polito.
December Anniversaries, Karl and Brigitta Klink-53 years, Jerry and Olga Jurgeneit-48 years.
January Anniversaries, George and June Campbell-62 years, congratulations all.
The 50/50 door draw of 40.75 each was won by Bill Agopian and Bill Slaght.
